The Ancestor lives behind a tile stove in the Moominhouse parlour. Even though smaller and hairier, this enchanting creature resembles the Moomins and, in fact, truly is their ancestor. The Ancestor never speaks and only moves during the night. In the black Ancestor Moomin mug from the Moomin Classics collection, he is at his mysterious activities – redecorating the Moominhouse by moving things to new spots and turning paintings upside down.
