The Bellevue lamp was created by Arne Jacobsen as one of his early designs. It was founded in 1929, when the world was shaken by the Great Depression and people longed for a new lifestyle. During the design, Jacobsen was inspired by the new technological possibilities of steel pipe production and the modernist design of Bauhaus.
Bellevue lamps have a flexible gooseneck and adjustable height. They are characterized by a 45 ° cut to which Arne Jacobsen returned later in his other lighting designs. Today, Bellevue lamps are manufactured by the Danish brand & tradition .
