Exhibition poster with a drawing of Skovshoved Gas Station, (1937), published in connection with the Arne Jacobsen exhibition at Louisiana in 2002, on the occasion of the world-famous architect’s 100th birthday. The exhibition was a retrospective tribute to the architect and his modernist design and furniture art – here exemplified by the striking gas station at Skovshoved Harbour, north of Copenhagen.

Arne Jacobsen’s gas station at Kystvejen 24 was built in 1937 in connection with the construction of the new coastal road around Tårbæk and Skovshoved.

The exhibition was a retrospective tribute to the architect and his modernist design and furniture art, and the House of the Future was Jacobsen’s breakthrough as an architect.

Arne Jacobsen designed the House of the Future in 1929 together with Flemming Lassen, and the futuristic house was presented – and became a winning project and a crowd magnet – at a large construction and housing fair in Forum in Frederiksberg, the same year.

Inspired by Denmark’s morning light, the 7:14 AM colours capture
the serene beauty of early autumn skies on Arne Jacobsen’s
iconic Series 7 chair. Featuring five soft hues – Green, Beige,
Pink, Violet, and Blue – paired with a Rainbow base, these ethereal
wash-tones evoke the colours of a dawn sky.
Designed to harmonise with both the existing Fritz Hansen colour
range and each other, the 7:14 AM shades bring a clean, nuanced
transformation to any space. Subtle yet evocative, these colours
complement a wide range of interior styles, enhancing them with
a touch of Nordic light.

The Rainbow base is crafted from semi-recycled steel, seamlessly
welded and coated with a zinc chromate finish. This process
creates a transparent golden rainbow effect, exceptionally durable,
that develops a unique patina over time, deepening the iridescent
colours. The transparent finish allows the pure steel structure
to shine through, revealing the natural hairlines created during
manufacturing, which are subtly visible through the iridescent tint.
The result is a delicate, flecked appearance when viewed up close.

The Ant chair’s visual expression is delicate and artful, much like the curves of a musical instrument. Designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1952, the chair is made from nine layers of pressure moulded veneer. Its elegant shape disguises its remarkable strength and comfort.
The 3101 model retains the sculptural simplicity of the original three-legged Ant design while expanding its distinct, expressive profile to suit a myriad of interior settings. Although the four-legged version of the Ant chair was occasionally produced during Jacobsen’s lifetime, it was only put into official production in 1971.

AJ Vegglampi E14 grár/brass

Arne Jacobsen designed this fixture, among many other features, for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, in 1957. The wall lamp yields a pleasant downward directed light with its white painted inner shade. Furthermore, the shade can be tilted to adjust light distribution.

The AJ lamp family is considered to be the design Jacobsen is most famous for worldwide. Apart from the AJ Wall, the AJ family consisted of a table lamp too, a smaller table lamp, a floor lamp as well as a table mounted lamp that were all to be found around the SAS Royal Hotel after its inauguration in 1960.
